I was fortunate enough to enjoy a sunny spring day for this walk and it was a pleasure from start to finish. The first half of the route in particular was along clifftop heathland which put a real spring in my step. The path gets increasingly rocky until you get to the pebble beach at Port Castle Bay and St Ninian’s Cave. Take care on the descent, there are some very steep sections if you take the wrong path as I did on the way down.
The staff in the reception office at the holiday village could not have been friendlier. It is worth checking in with them before you leave just to make sure your car isn’t blocking any access.
