Parking is now available on the left about 200 metres down the road to Balcary, which allows you to access the Millenium Garden and footbridge, leading on to the playing fields where the walk starts. Much of the footpath has been improved but there are still some short sections which can be very muddy. There is a section where you will be walking through an area with livestock – sheep or cattle depending on the time of year. The beach at Red Haven is small but lovely, with great views towards Hestan. Don’t follow my route up Torr Hill – I made the mistake of letting the dog choose the way so we got some good views but stuck in a dead end.
