The D&G guide’s description of the walk is muddled and appears to have parts out of order. Ignore the text and the route is fairly easy to follow.
The path after the Glenlee power station (where significant work was underway at the time I followed the route) appears to be closed but only makes a minor diversion along the road. There is some lovely woodland in the Garroch Glen and the walk has plenty of interest.
