The viewpoint itself is now rather underwhelming as the growth of the forest has largely obscured it, and there are better views from the path up than the viewpoint itself. However it is a pleasant enough walk through managed forestry, and a slight diversion allows for a visit to the ‘secret cages’ where red kites were acclimatized before being released into the wild during their reintroduction programme.
