The first section of this route is through the town and along the side of the road down the estuary, which is pleasant enough, but you may prefer to find the limited parking along the roadside past Mutehill. This allows you to cut out the roadside walk and spend more time on the most interesting parts of the route as well as giving you time to explore further along the coast.
