An enjoyable circular walk across fields and along some country lanes. There is plenty of interest along the way with more than one cairn and standing stone to discover, together with good views over to Wigtownshire. Kirkmabreck old graveyard has some fascinating gravestones going back to the 17th Century, and the Galloway Smokehouse and Bistro at the foot of the return leg makes a welcome stop (especially on a warm day as Cream o’Galloway ice cream is available). Don’t follow my route by going up the wrong side road at the start of the walk!
