After a stroll along the side of the Esk, the main interest on this walk consists of seeing the scale of the pheasant breeding operation for the Buccleugh Estates (unless cast iron bridges are your thing of course). There is then a walk back to town through some pleasant woodland, although the track was rather muddy when we visited.
