Sadly this route seems to have fallen into a state of neglect.
Other than a parking spot beside a private house, there is no evidence of a car park as described in the D&G guide.
The first third of the walk through woodland is still clear and enjoyable. However the path along the side of the river was very overgrown and effectively impassable when I visited. Walking along the side of the flood bank was not possible as the area was planted up with a cereal crop. What should have been a short circular walk turned into a very short there and back again. Hopefully someone will open up the path again in the future, but for the time being I could not recommend a visit.
