Most of this long walk is on easy forest tracks, with some sections along the side of the road. Between Colvend and Rockliffe there is about half a mile without pavement, but the road is not particularly busy. The section from Rockliffe to Kippford is along the Jubilee Path route.
There is a shop in Colvend and various opportunities to get something to eat in Kippford if you want to stop for lunch. Public toilets are available in Rockliffe and Kippford. This walk is an enjoyable day out.
