A there-and-back-again walk (with a small loop at the end) starting in Kirkcudbright. The first part of the walk along the side of the Dee is fully accessible with the exception of one step of approx 4cm onto a footbridge and a grassy section which could become muddy in wet weather. The path then becomes a bit rougher and ends up crossing the road into a rough field.
Take care crossing the Old Bridge as it is quite narrow and wide vehicles have been known to use it.
