For good or for ill, changes are afoot at Dunskey Estate. The gardens and tearoom no longer exist and many of the estate buildings are being changed into holiday rentals. I parked behind the stable block (beside the interesting and tricky maze) but it seems that the estate would now prefer you to park at a new location (what3words: snow.regulate.inspects) and start your walk from there.
This removes a little bit of parkland from your walk but you still have the joy of Dunskey Glen to explore. Walk down to the coast along the track above the glen and after reaching the coast walk back up the bottom of the glen. The sketch map on the D&G guide is misleading – don’t cross the burn as I did, the return path is on the south side of the burn.
