Glentrool to Martyrs’ Tomb

A walk around the the bottom half of Glentrool on well maintained and generally dry paths. The outward leg involves some short climbs but the return leg follows the river and is generally level. There are good views throughout the walk which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Note that there is a charge for the use of the car park at the visitors’ centre but if you use the car park halfway around the walk near Caldons the parking is free, with the bonus that you can stop halfway round for a cup of tea at the visitor centre when it is open.
